PDP fumes over BJP's posturing
3/31/2016 12:10:54 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 30: The PDP has taken strong note of aggressive posturing by the BJP on the Government formation. The party has told the State leadership of the BJP that since it's just continuation of the pre-agreed alliance nothing much can be changed on any aspect even on Cabinet seat sharing.
"The party (BJP) itself was saying that nothing has changed in the alliance except the sad and unfortunate demise of Mufti Sayeed. So going by their statements the same agreement on Cabinet seat sharing should be in place. Then why this posturing of more share and also now why saying they too have equal numbers. Has their number increased in the last two-month," said a senior PDP leader.
The PDP is also getting un-comfortable with the BJP with it claiming that it has now got an upper hand on Government formation and can bargain hard in the governance with the PDP.
"The BJP it seems has forgotten too soon the fact that PDP president had even refused to meet the PM rather kept him waiting unless she had an assurances from him. The BJP was forced to retract from its plan of forming the Government with the splinter group. It seems that local leadership of the BJP is working at variance with its top leadership supposedly for addressing local constituencies but it will have an affect on us and we can't allow that to happen," said the PDP leader.
The PDP top leadership has communicated to the Central high command of the BJP that it can't finalise the date of the Government till the local leadership is told in categorical terms that it doesn't flair up regional and religious sentitments.
"The BJP is already being accused of playing communal card but if it plays this up just for few more Cabinet seats than it will be harming itself more than us and it will force us to do make some more radical step," said the PDP leader, considered a close aide of Mehbooba Mufti
