Separatists instigating stone pelting: DIG CRPF
'We want youth to join mainstream'

Srinagar, Mar 30: Accusing separatists of instigating youth for stone pelting, Deputy Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sandeep Dhandia on Wednesday said that daily strikes called by separatists motivates youth for 'violence'.
''These daily strikes have adversely affected people in Kashmir, how much important the day is or holds any eminence youth are motivated, we want our youth who have been misled by vested interest people to join mainstream and assist us to create a peaceful atmosphere in the state," DIG CRPF told reporters on the sidelines of Civic Action program organized by 161 battalion CRPF at Kohna Khan Dalgate here. DIG CRPF also said that stone pelting and militancy related incidents were reduced to a very great extent in Srinagar city. "There are apprehensions, sometimes there are reports else the situation has been improved a lot in Srinagar city, compared to past militancy and stone pelting incidents have been reduced to a great extent" he said.
He said that the aim of organizing Civic Action programs is to motivate and enthuse youth who have adopted wrong path. DIG CRPF who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion said that such programs are quite relevant and CRPF is looking for a better future.
"Besides militancy, law and order situation and adverse activities are also reduced; we have been working with local police and assisting them. Our motive is to mitigate every kind of apprehensions towards security forces,'' said Dhandia.
Replying to a query whether there are any reports about possible militant strikes in Srinagar city he said "we have been working shoulder to shoulder with J&K police and assisting it, IG police is appropriate person to respond this"
Replying to another query about the presence of CRPF bunker in Habba Kadal area in old city, DIG CRPF said there is no tension in that area due to the presence of bunker. "In Habba Kdaal there is no tension among the people, CRPF is aimed to secure people there, so that the peaceful and law abiding citizens are protected, we are also looking into the incident that happened before three four days and so far we didn't find any truth the way media portrayed it" added he.
Regarding removal of bunker from Habba Kadal, Dhandia said that CRPF is in constant touch with Superintendent of Police (SP) concerned and whatever decision is taken shall be followed.
