| Army jawan injured in accidental 'grenade blast' | | | Rajouri, Mar 30: In an accidental grenade blast an army Naik got injured seriously when a grenade exploded accidentally at Firing Range of Army in Rajouri district here this morning.
Sources said, "The injured Naik has been identified as R B Rawat of 23 Rashtriya Rifles (RR)."
Reliable sources said that some soldiers of 23 RR from Ramban have been camping at Nowshera for firing practice at Army's firing range situated at Kanara few km from Nowshera town. Source added as the jawans were busy in unloading the ammunition the grenade got unplugged accidentally and it exploded in the hand of the above mentioned Naik resulting him critical injuries.
"The injured Naik was immediately evacuated to Army Hospital Nowshera from where he was air lifted to Army Hospital Rajouri and was undergoing treatment till last report came in, sources said. |
