Jammu, Mar 30: In continuation to the ongoing special drive against drug menace, police today claimed to have arrested five drug peddlers across the Jammu in separate incidents alongwith huge consignment of intoxicants. According to police spokesperson, the team headed by Inspector Karan Chalotra, SHO Nagrota and SI Noor Mohd In-charge police Post Sidhra under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Bharat Bushan Sharma under operation "Sanjeevani" launched by Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu raised a naka at Asrasrabad, Sidhra and stopped one Auto-rickshaw bearing registration number JKO2BE - 9210 on its way from Asrasrabad to city. "During checking of the vehicle, police party recovered intoxicants including 59-Phenergam Injections 59-Diazibam, 49-Omgeslc, 120- Tab Prozolem 0.5 mg, 45-Tab Nitravlet from the possession of three persons including Yakeen Ali of Bajalta, Boby Kamal of Asrasrabad and Mohd Yousuf of Bajalta. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 78/2016 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station. Meanwhile, under the operation 'Sanjeevani ' today police team headed by SHO Police Station Nowabad Inspector Raghubir Singh conducted Naka checking at Dogra Chowk and intercepted one Motorcyclist riding on a motor cycle bearing regd no: JK02-K-0474. "The rider Suresh Kumar s/o Dev Raj of Chand Nagar Jammu and his pillion rider as Rakesh Sharma @ Cobra of Peermitha Jammu were questioned, police said. "On their personal frisking, police team recovered 90 tablets of Nitravet from their possession, police said, adding, "the drugs were seized on the spot and duo was arrested. In this regard a case under FIR No. 44/2016 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Nowabad police station. The operation was conducted under the close supervision of Dr Vinod Kumar, SP City North and Sungandha Mahajan SDPO City West, Jammu. |
