AJHLA hails Deewan for introducing 'special stickers' for tourists' vehicles | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 30: All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association (AJHLA) has appreciated the exemplary decision undertaken by Parvez Deewan, Advisor to Governor of Jammu & Kashmir for fixing stickers on tourists' vehicles for exemption from checking by police and traffic police, with validity of six months. Addressing a meeting of association, Inderjeet Khajuria, president AJHLA said that the decision shall provide a sigh of relief to the tourists, pilgrims and transporters, this will also give a free hand to the tourist vehicles operators, who otherwise were hesitant to enter Jammu in view of excessive nakkas and checking. "The initiative will give an impetus to the free flow of tourists/pilgrims in Jammu,he said adding, "there is dire need of publicizing of historical religious places of Jammu having tourist potential like Shri Jamwant Gufa- Peerkho; Shri Raghunath Ji Temple; Manda Deer Park/Wild Life Sanctuary; Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex; Shri Kali Mata Ji Mandir- Bahu Fort; Bagh-e-Bahu and Suchetgarh Border RS Pura." While demanding wide publicity for the historical places of Jammu, President AJHLA stressed for early completion of online Mega Tourism Projects of Jammu including Artificial Tawi Lake Project; Jammu Cable Car Project; Multi Storied Shopping/Parking Complex including ISBT at General Bus Stand and urged the government for fixing completing and commissioning dates to make Jammu an independent tourist destination. |
