'Guru, Chela' misuse positions in GMC Jammu Higher ups of H&ME deptt in deep slumber 5/13/2016 11:54:18 PM Early Times Report jammu, May 13: It seems the higher ups of the Health and Medical Education Department are in a deep slumber over the issue of favouritism in enhancing various posts of faculty members in Government Medical College and its associated hospitals. Early Times has been reporting about favouritism and bungling in enhancing various posts of faculty members in the GMC, Jammu. It has been revealed that the HoD Medicine who is also Member Coordinator MCI, and Assistant Professor of Pharmacology have succeeded to befool Minister for Health and Medical Education, and Secretary of the department. Officials of the department told Early Times that in Pharmacology department of GMC Jammu where a 'blue eyed' doctor has been working as Assistant Professor, got another favour vide order No:164-HME of 2015, dated 11-05-2015. He was promoted as Associate Professor. Some heads of various departments are helping him by throwing MCI norms into the dustbin. Before his promotion as Associate Professor, there were already sanctioned or working 3 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors and 55 Lecturers posts. As per MCI norms for 150-MBBS intake capacity, 1 Professor, 2 Associate/Readers and 2 Assistant Prof/Lecturer is needed. "Now in view of enhanced post of 1 Associate Prof. is due for his next promotion as an Associate Prof that he ordinarily could have become in 2018. This shows his high aspirations for which he can use or befool anybody in the department," sources said. They said the 'Guru' also enhanced 1 post of Professor in Gynaecology vide government order referred above. Normally, the person could have become Professor in 2018 instead of 2015, which she has become after enhancement of the post. 'Guru-Chela' wanted to help their team who could protect their misdeeds and glorify their wrong actions as well as adjust their blue eyed on top posts.
