Kishtwar: Lecturer forces students to clean school | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report kishtwar, May 13: A lecturer who visited High School Nagbatna in remote Kuntwara area of Kishtwar district for inspection forced the students to clean the premises of school to please him. As per details available with Early Times, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar deputed Bansi Lal Bhagat (I/C Lecturer) for inspection of the school.On his arrival at school on Wednesday, Bhagat forced the students to clean the school premises and later clicked their photographs and circulated them on social media. In the past, the lecturer was caught in controversies and is facing inquiry for misusing his official position. He had withdrawn his salaries against the post of Principal when he was given the power of drawing and disbursing in absence of Principal at Higher Secondary School Palmar where he was attached. Sources in the Education department said that instead of attending his duties, the said in charge lecturer using influence of senior officers got himself deputed on one or other job while the actual job of the said lecturer is to teach. Meanwhile various social and political activists including retired educationists have slammed him for forcing the students to clean the school premises. It is pertinent to mention that High School Nagbatna lacks various basic facilities including shortage of class rooms while at the same time the post of Headmaster, 6 posts of masters, 2 posts of teachers, one post of Physical Education Teacher and two posts of IV class are lying vacant. The school having strength of more than 150 students is run by one teacher, two RRETs and one ReT while one teacher is attached in Kishtwar school. |
