LC witness uproar over VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi statement | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

srinagar, Jun 8: The upper house of Jammu and Kashmir today witness an uproar over the statement of VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi statement who yesterday had said that it is time to make India free of Muslims. As soon as the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council started its function today, National Conference MLC Dr. Shahnaz Ganie raised the issue in the house and demanded condemnation of the Sadhvi Prachi statement. Dr. Shahnaz Ganie said that Muslims are part of the India added that the house should condemn her statement which aimed to divide the country by targeting a particular community. The BJP members present in the house were on feet objected NC MLC for raising such issues in the house that doesn't have any concern with the house. There were heated arguments between the Dr. Shahnaz Ganie and the BJP MLCs over the issue as BJP MLC Ashok Khujaria wants condemnation of HM militant Burhan Wani statement. As the uproar continues, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Dr. Bashir Veeri of National Conference along with Congress MLC Naresh Gupta and others also support Dr. Shahnaz Ganie demanded. "It (Sadhvi Prachi Statement) can't be tolerated-we condemn it" said Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo. Reacting to the concern of the National Conference and Congress MLCs, Education Minister Naeem Akther said that we should not provoke things of divisive nature added that Muslims are part of the India and no will isolate them from it. While talking to "Early Times" Dr. Shahnaz Ganie said that the statement of Sadhvi Prachi is condemnable act added that she will bring resolution in the Legislative Council to condemn it. In a question regarding demand of condemnation of Bhuran Wani statement raised by the BJP MLC Ashok Khujuria, She said that Sadhvi is a political figure and such statement from a political figure is condemnable added that politican is the part of democratic set up while Buran Wani has no such link with it and the issue is all together different. It is pertinent to mention that known for courting controversies, the Sadhvi claimed the mission of a Congress-free India has already been "accomplished" and it is now time to get rid the country off Muslims. "Now that we have achieved the mission of making a Congress-free India, it is time to make India Muslim-free. We are working on that," she said in a Roorkee where at least 32 people were injured last week in a clash between two communities over forcible evacuation of a scrap dealer's shop. |
