JAMMU, June 8: Police Headquarters (PHQ) not paying any heed towards the D O (Demi Official) letters given by the BJP ministers to adjust their people has left the BJP ministers fuming.
"Whenever we send our D O letters to PHQ in connection with adjustments of police officers and other works, the senior officers just ignore these D O letters. On the other hand , they have been doing all the works of PDP ministers," sources in state BJP said. Dozens of people visit ministers daily in connection with their works in police department, including transfers and adjustments of Inspectors and other officers who are either their family members or close acquaintances. "The ministers give them D O letters, but when they approach PHQ, they are just ignored. The concerned PHQ officers don't give any weightage to these D O letters," sources alleged.
Sources said a BJP minister spoke to a senior PHQ officer a few days back about the adjustment of a DSP and also sent him a D O letter in this regard, but the work was not done. The PHQ has rejected his D O letters over a dozen times in the past one month, sources informed.
Apart from this minister, some other BJP ministers also had similar complaints to make against the PHQ, sources informed. When two BJP ministers recently took up the matter with a senior BJP minister, he too expressed his unhappiness with PHQ, saying it had been rejecting his D O letters too. |
