Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 8: With the change of political climate in the state government headed by hard task master Mehbooba Mufti, separatists are a state of frustration with Yasin Malik having run amuck and taking law into his own hands
Over the past one month and with the onset of tourists season, the separatists have unleashed a reign of lawlessness exceeding limits of their unlawful activities and making the life of people hell with business activities coming to a grinding halt quite often. In this background, Yasin Malik Chief of JK Liberation Front had to fall in the clutches of law for inciting lawlessness and violence involving young generation.
As per media reports, the real face of Yasin Malik surfaced when in a desperation, he slapped police personnel in full public view indicating that he has no respect for law of the land. The political analysts say that such an attitude of a person like Yasin Malik, who is running so called liberation movement, manifests his virtual disappointment and devoid of qualities of a good leader. They say that seemingly his failure to create broad based favourable conditions in Kashmir to achieve his sinister agenda and befitting response of the government to his unlawful acts has crippled his designs to build up an atmosphere of disturbances in the valley.
Roshan Lal Koul, a philanthropist, pin pointed that the job of state govt is to formulate plans and programmes on the basis of legitimate mandate given by the public democratically and hence the govt is fully authorised by the people to prepare and launch schemes related to the larger welfare of people in the state belonging to different communities. He questioned the credentials of anti national groups thriving in Kashmir to thwart the efforts of govt to implement such schemes He said that the demography of Kashmir, as separatists shout, swiftly gets scuttled and jeopardized simply knowing about their own brethren wishing to come back home being inhabitants of state and state subjects.
Taking a dig on the sympathy being shown by few political parties to release Yasin Malik and tackle him and others of his ilk politically, Romesh Manhas, educationist, asked these sympathisers that is there any other law above the law of land which is differently applied to different persons or organizations who create law and order problems risking the lives of common public. Mocking at the cleverness of these noise creators, Seema Bhat, housewife fingers on the double standard of separatists and said that these hooligans are only concerned for demography of the valley but what ails them to maintain studied silences over coming up of a number of colonies of majority community over the years in and around Jammu without any resistance or noise from the side of Jammu people. Rather Jammu has displayed a great sense of communal harmony and brotherhood, adding that why does not a bit of wisdom prevail upon these so called freedom fighters atleast by taking lesson from people of Jammu whose heart is broad enough to accommodate all whosoever come in their fold, she maintained
Lauding the action of state government for swinging into action to detain Yasin Malik and put him behind bars, Swaran Singh , a retired army officer said that the time has come when the state government has cleared its intention without any iota of doubt to one and all creating lawlessness to desist from violating law . The opinion makers suggest that instead of according VIP treatment to such anti national elements on the public expenses and keeping them under house arrest when they cross the limits flouting law of land all those instigating sedition in the valley should be treated at par with JKLF Chief showing them the path of jail and imposing relevant sections of law ,even PSA if any body's guilt covers that section of law. This is what they now need to restrict and arrest their illegal style of blackmailing the people of J&K ,especially Kashmiris in particular and people of the world in general, they insisted.
