Jammu, June 7: SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) has shown its human facet by extending a helping hand to the family of MSc student of the varsity who was going through tough time. President SKUAST-TAJ, Dr.Vikas Sharma said that on the initiative of association, teachers, non-teaching staff and students of SKUAST-Jammu collected a cash amount of Rs. 4,00,000/- (Four lakhs) to save the precious life of a Post Graduate student. Dr. Vikas informed that few days back Ms. Padma Angmo R/o Hemis Chomoling, Kharu, Leh, Ladakh, pursuing M.Sc. in the Division of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, has been hit by a speedy truck and shifted to Govt. Medical College (GMC), Jammu. The doctors treating the case stated that her condition is very critical and requires immediate shifting to AIIMS, New Delhi by air ambulance for further treatment that requires an expenditure of Rs. 4.00 lakhs. Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J Dr P.K. Sharma in no time sanctioned a temporary advance of Rs 400,000 for immediate shifting of the girl to the Premier Medical Institute of the Country and President-TAJ assured the VC that money will be refunded back. |
