Cong leaders assail BJP-PDP for power crisis in Jammu

Jammu, Jun 8: Senior Congress leaders from Jammu region today assailed the BJP-PDP Coalition for massive power crisis in Jammu and Governments failure to tackle the situation.
A meeting of senior Congress leaders was held here today to take stock of the problems being faced by the people of the State in general and Jammu region in particular. The Congress leaders unanimously expressed serious concern about the worst power crisis being faced by the people of Jammu. They said the people of Jammu are suffering due to non-availability of power, because of long cuts and the ministers, MLAs and MLCs, of ruling alliance are enjoying in cool and comfortable weather of Kashmir Valley. The leaders expressed their anguish against the forced shutdown being imposed on the consumers, which is totally unbearable during these hot summer days. It is surprising that these cuts for longer durations are being imposed during the night hours also. They further expressed that the drinking water supply position is also grim in Jammu areas. The people are suffering badly on this count as well. The water supply position both in urban as well as in rural areas is pathetic.
The Government came under heavy attack for discontinuation of system of summer and winter secretariat, at Jammu and Srinagar for the redressal of public grievances. The leaders described it most shameful. The leaders expressed their full sympathy with the public and asked the Jammu representatives `to perform or resign' and sit at home. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included, Tara Chand (Ex-DyCM), Jugal Kishore Sharma-MLC, RS Chib Ex-Minister, Th Hari Singh, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Th Balwan Singh, Jagdish Sapolia, Ashok Sharma, Subhash Gupta, Master Tasaddaq Hussain, S Amolak Singh, Vinod Mishra, Maheshwar Singh, Darshan Raina, Sardari Lal Dubey, Arun Sharma, Mahinder K Bhardwaj, Ashok Dubey, HL Abrol and Narinder Sharma.
