Team Jammu appeals all political parties to take Drug Menace issue seriously 6/8/2016 11:06:44 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 8: Expressing concern over recovery of huge quantity of Heroin and Brown Sugar by the Jammu Police, Team Jammu today said that it is just a tip of an iceberg because narcotic business worth crores and crores is still flourishing in J&K. "We appreciate and congratulate those police officers/officials who have busted international gang of narcotics smugglers by recovering 10 kilograms of Heroin and same quantity of Brown Sugar but lot more needed to be done because drug mafia is very powerful and influential", chairman of the Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said. "It is very unfortunate that our Legislators are wasting time in discussing issues, which are of far less priority in the Upper and Lower Houses of the Legislature but not even a single question has been raised regarding flourishing of drug business in J&K besides holding a debate on the need of the hour to sharpen the prevailing NDPS Act to tighten the noose of drug mafia and drug lords", Zorawar Singh Jamwal said and added that this menace has gripped youth of both Jammu and Kashmir regions so it is need to the hour to formulate a comprehensive policy to save our youth from this menace. He said that a debate should conduct on this menace so that a policy should be formulated to deal with this menace which is slowly claiming lives of innocent youths of the State", he said and again appealed the MLAs/MLCs of all the political parties to take this issue seriously as still the proceedings of Assembly will continue for another couple of weeks.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
