Katra, June 17: Wrestler Parveen Bholla of Chand Roop Akhara Delhi and wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police shared the 8th Annual Udhampur Kawa Dangal title that took place at Government High School Kawa near Air force Area and Railway Station udhampur. Both the Wrestlers jointly awarded with cash prize of Rs 51,000/- by President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Durga Dass Padha.
Dangal was organized by Kawa Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Durga Dass Padha. An expenditure of Rs 1,95,000/- has been incurred for the conduct of this one day long Wrestling event. 38 bouts were played. Contractor Raj Kumar Gupta has contributed Rs 21,000/- as financial assistance to the organizers.
Joint secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Associate Vice President Wrestling Federation of India and President Senior citizens Welfare Forum was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the Wrestlers Contractor Raj Kumar Gupta and social activits and Wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma were the guests of honour.
The second main bout was won by Sumit of Delhi who defeated Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House Udhampur.
Members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this wrestling event included Sapanch Durga Dass Padha, Rajinder Singh Katoch, Yov Raj Singh Katoch, Hukam Chand Numberdar, Sat Paul Sharma, Kewal Khajuria, Sudesh Numberdar, Krishan Lal Verma, Mohan Lal Sharma, (Headmaster) Vijay Kumar Sharma, Sheikher Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Raj Mohd. Basant Ram Numberdar, Yash Khajuria, Sanjeev Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Krishan lal Sharma, Vijay Singh (Bijju), Lashman Singh Katoch, Deepak Anand, Virender Badyal, Murli Dhar (Munna), Ashok Garg of Haryana and Mohd Fareed.
