Rejuvenation of Tawi, Chander Mohan hail govt's decision

Jammu, June 17: Convenor Tawi Andolan extended thanks to state government for signing MoU for rejuvenation of Surajputri Tawi by developing it from Bhagwati Bridge to Kol-kandoli Nagrota, a 10 Km stretch.
According to press release, Chander Mohan Sharma, Convenor Tawi Andolan has extended his thanks to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh for executed for rejuvenation of Surajputri Tawi by developing it from Bhagwati Bridge to Kol-kandoli Nagrota, a 10 Km stretch by spending Rs. 1000 Cr in the project.
According to press release, he said that members of Tawi Andolan are very happy as long pending desire of the people of Jammu is being fulfilled. "With the beginning of the project, the decks are clear for creation of Artificial Tawi Lake", he said.
Tawi Andolan extended gratitude towards Sat Pal Sharma MLA, Jugal Kishore MP, Rajesh Gupta MLA, Mubarak Singh VC JDA, for taking the cause of Tawi development vigorously.
Sharma said that beautification of the river front cannot be completed without getting basin and catchment area of the river vacated from illegal occupation of Land Grabbers. He said that vacation of Tawi Land and connected forest will have to be done as was done in Ahmedabad for Sabarmati River Rejuvenation.
Sharma appreciated the vision of Mehbooba Mufti who wants Jammu to become an independent tourist destination. She also plans to promote border tourism which will be praise worthy step.
He said that Tawi Andolan has decided to start similar Puja Arti at Sudh Mahadev, Cheneni, Manwal and Nagrota.
