Jammu being turned into a 1989 Kashmir: JFI | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 17: Jammu for India today stated that the sacrilegious acts in two temples in Jammu by communal zealots is a clear cut indication of a campaign to transform Jammu into 1989 Kashmir. Addressing media persons here today, convener of Jammu For India, Prof Hari Om reflecting on the developing situation in Jammu, said that JFI has no doubts that the explosive communal situation is being built in Jammu through a coordinated effort between Islamic Fundamentalists and pro-Khalistani ranks operating in the state. He said that JFI holds the present dispensation of PDP-BJP responsible for ignoring the sinister anti-national developments taking place all over the state. "Instead of performing its constitutional obligation and duty to protect national interests in the state the ruling political class is trying to build bizarre rationalizations for well planned communal and subversive incidents. The same subversive drama was witnessed in Kashmir when brazen acts of communal assault on Hindus were justified as acts committed by mentally unfit persons", he said. He further said that the recent boost to the fundamentalism, terrorism and anti-national activities witnessed all over the state is the direct outcome of the hobnobbing of the present ruling dispensation with separatist and fundamentalist forces. "Agenda of Alliance which forms the guiding framework of this government has encouraged fundamentalist separatist forces all over the state", he said, adding that the JFI holds the firm view that any government which comes into existence on an open and declared semi-separatist agenda will invariably end up as a frontline collaborator for separatism. He further said that it should also been known that within the separatist constituencies in Kashmir as well as Jammu the talk is that separation from India is round the corner. "The discourse in such constituencies is that the Modi government is determined for a give and take in Jammu and Kashmir", he added. He was accompanied by Dheeraj Pargal, organising secretary, Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Sham Lai Bassan, Advo Pushpinder Singh, Devender Choudhary, Ajaat Shatru Singh, Rajesh Dutta and Ashok Kumar. |
