Early Times Report
Jammu, June 17: Deploring the back to back sacrilegious acts which took place at Roop Nagar, Udhampur and Nanak Nagar by some anti-social miscreants, JKNPP made a fervent appeal to all sects of the society to maintain communal peace and harmony at all costs in a press conference today.
Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP while speaking to the media condemned the profane acts of blasphemy and desecration at the revered temples of Lord Shiva which had severely hurt the sentiments of the people of Jammu Pradesh to stage massive protests.
He lambasted the BJP-PDP government for providing comfort zone to the separatists which had further emboldened the mischievous elements to trigger communal tension. He said that the wrong policy of the government had encouraged the fringe elements to move scot free to disrupt the peace and tranquility of the State.
Singh divulged that certain incidents of late sparked by anti-national elements had created the atmosphere of fear and terror similar to the dark era of nineties. Castigating BJP for towing the secessionist agenda along with its coalition partner, he revealed that Saffron brigade's slavish tendency had given strength to anti-social elements and fundamentalists in Kashmir who dared to change the names of places and shrines with a motive to erase the centuries old heterogeneous culture in the valley.
Prominent among those who addressed on the occasion included Sardar Paramjit Singh Marshall, Gagan Pratap Singh, Rajesh Padgotra, Sham Gorkha, Anil Rakwal, Narinder Sharma, Arun Sharma, Ajeet Sharma, Narinder Singh, Satvir, Bhanu Partap ,Parshottam Parihar, Udhay Veer besides others.
