Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, June 17: Social & Cultural organization PEACE today organized a seminar at Govt Hr Sec School Panchari in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Udhampur on the subject "Promotion of Rural Tourism in Panchari area". Mulkh Raj, Tehsildar Panchari was Chief Guest on this occasion where as Principal of the School, S.Baljeet Singh presided over the function. Among prominent present on occasion were BMO Dr Satpaul Pangotra, SHO Sanjay Abrol, BVO Dr Amit, CHO Bhim Sein and others Speakers said that the area could boast of several places of natural beauty such as Dhar Ladha, Sankari Devta, Sangal Bain (Bowli), Meer Gursad Mandir, Sankhpal Devta, Moundli Dhar, Samtal Devta, Gori Mitti, Saroli Dhar, Sar Dhabar, Pangan Devta etc. It was also demanded that some prominent places are there where Govt, can develop the botanical gardens. Speakers also stressed to preserve the old heritage of Dogras and Folks such as "Bhakhas", "Karkan", "Tappe", "GeetadCt" and "Soadiyan" as these things are new diminishing. Earlier the chief guest, Tehsildar Mulkh Raj appreciated the efforts of the organization PEACE for organizing such a programme in this remote area and hoped this will go a long way. Earlier President PEACE, Narinder Singh in his address regretted that successive state governments have ignored the picturesque area in the Udhampur district. He added that the area is not far off from Jammu even the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji can also be diverted here. He demanded better road connectivity to the area as there are two Govt, identified Rural Tourist villages namely MEER and KRIMCHI. |
