Fresh batch of 1786 yatris leave Jammu for Amarnath yatra

JAMMU, July 18: Another batch of 1786 pilgrims today left from basecamp in Jammu for their respective base camps in Kashmir viz. Baltaland Pahalgam to proceed their onwards journey to holy cave shrine ofShri Amarnath ji situated in South Kashmir in Himalayas.
"Amid slogans like 'Bum Bum Bole, Har Har Mahadev 'batch of pilgrims comprising 1389 males, 347 females in a convoy of 36 buses, 16 LightMotor Vehicles (LMVs) left from Bagwatinagar base camp for Baltal andPahalgam in Kashmir", an official said this afternoon. "Besides these, 50 sadhyus in 1 bus also left Jammu for their onwardpilgrimage from Parade Ground Jammu, he said, adding, " a total of1786 pilgrims in a convoy 53 vehicles today left Jammu to report their respective base camps in Kashmir valley. "Earlier, the annual year yatra has been suspended four times twice dueto bad road condition and twice due to turmoil in valley since July 9in the wake of violence in the Valley, following the killing of the topHizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
