BJP training camp at Patnitop likely to be stormy 7/18/2016 11:23:09 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, July 18: The proposed 4-day (July 22-July 25) training camp at Patnitop where three BJP national general secretaries, including Ram Lal, Ram Madhav and Murlidhar Rao would impart training to the BJP ministers as far as the party's ideology is concerned is, if insiders are to be believed, going to be very stormy. Some senior party leaders in the state have taken the proposed training camp to mean a "god sent" opportunity to "corner and expose the BJP ministers in the Mehbooba Mufti-led coalition government" and "inform the central leaders that the BJP will become a story of the past in Jammu region in case the BJP ministers continued to behave like in the past, as also failed to address the issues facing the people of Jammu province with whose help the BJP has been enjoying loaves and fishes of office". What would happen during the scheduled training camp became clear on July 16, when the core committee members of the party sat together to discuss the prevailing situation in the state in general and Kashmir and attacks on the minorities and their religious places and Amarnath yatris in particular. J&K BJP in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna was also present. Not one but many in the meeting lambasted not just the party leadership but also all the ministers. They held them responsible for the prevailing state of affairs. Some of them clearly gave to understand that the BJP ministers "have sold their conscience" and that "they are no more than the PDP's agents in the BJP". Theirs was a scathing attacking on the ministers and the some party leaders and their grouse was that they "have forgotten their ideology and their constituency". It's not just that many in the BJP trained and will again train guns at some party leaders and the BJP ministers for their utter failure to protect the interests of the party and the people of Jammu province. Almost all the affiliates of RSS, including VHP, have turned against the BJP ministers. Leela Karan Sharma has even gone to the extent of saying that "the BJP ministers are worse than those of the Congress" and even condemned the July 16 statement of Deputy Chief Minister that none in Kashmir attacked Amarnath Yatris and the minority Hindus. "The BJP ministers are behaving in the most irresponsible manner. They are worse than the Congress ministers of the previous regime," Leela Karan Sharma, coordinator of the VHP, reportedly said on Sunday.
