Former state rulers trying to add fuel to the fire: Chaman Lal | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18: The sad situation in the valley of Kashmir is a matter of concern for every Indian, especially those who have faith in unity and prosperity of the Country but what is happening in these days is not a new phenomenon as Pakistan has come to be a hostile neighbor since its inception. After receiving drubbings in 1947, 1965 and even in 1971 humiliating defeat in 1971, the elements there did not learn any lesson. They have launched a proxy war for about three decades now as far Indian position is concerned; it was made amply clear in the constitution as also in the unanimous resolution of the parliament that Jammu & Kashmir is an irrevocable part of the country. Stating this, the former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman lal Gupta observed that what is happening in these days in certain parts of the valley, is a part of the old game plan which needed to be dealt with firmly. He regretted that certain former rulers of the State are trying to add fuel to the fire to grind their own eggs. Their role at many times had been quite dubious. In early nineties some of them had even left this State leaving the people in lurch. But such an approach cannot be expected from a sincere and upright politician. Prof. Gupta stressed for firm dealing with the mobocracy as the preparators of terror and bigotry although this is a complex problem. He praised the role of the forces in fighting the cross border terror in such a difficult situation and expressed confidence the menace of terrorism would be defeated. Prof. Gupta lashed against elements making heroes of the offenders and killers of the innocent people. He questioned the sincerity of those who are eulogizing terrorists even after knowing that this was a great threat to mankind and peace. |
