Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 5 : : Presiding Officer of Fast Track Court, Kishore Kumar today issued non-bailable warrants against an investigating officer (IO) in a rape case at Domana police station for not maintaining the case CD file. Sub-Inspector (SI) Javaid Kataria is IO in the case. According to the order in bail application titled Rahul v/s state, the court after perusal of the CD file, observed that it had not been maintained in accordance with police rules. Perusal of the CD file further revealed that it had been maintained till August 27, 2016 only and thereafter, no proceedings had been noted down in it. "This action of the IO warrants explanation," the court said. The court, after perusal of the August 30, 2016 order passed by it, said the IO was directed to appear in the court along with CD file. "APP has produced the CD file but no explanation has been tendered for the non-appearance of the IO. As such, non-bailable warrants are issued to secure the presence of the IO to explain the reasons for non maintenance/completion of the CD file," the court directed.(JNF)
