After facing humiliation, MPs ask Govt to ignore separatists | Mission Kashmir a 'flop show' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 5: The Modi government has decided to further harden its stand on Kashmir after the separatists refused to hold talks with some members of the all-party delegation (APD) who had gone, though on their own, to meet them. The Modi government has decided to further corner the separatists and make them and the Kashmir narrative 'irrelevant,' said a senior Home Ministry official. "We were accepting this from them (separatists), but the manner in which Geelani even didn't open the doors of his home, when senior most parliamentarians had come to meet him out of the courtesy, is not only offending but disgusting. Now, he will face the music in this language only," said the official. There are reports that all parliamentarians who were part of the APD have given their consent to the future policy of the government to not even mention Hurriyat in discourse on Kashmir. "Even the parliamentarians who were initially supportive of the idea of holding talks with the Hurriyat and had suggested to have an interaction with them have not only felt humiliated but even taken aback by the hardened and ultra radical approach of the separatists. If they can't even hold talks with Owaisi, who had gone to meeting Umar Farooq, then how could we assume that they accept the Indian sovereignty and inclusive approach," said the official who is privy to discussion among the APD members. Sources said that the Modi government will soon unfold the policy after a brief meeting with J&K Governor and senior officials of the Home Ministry called by the home Minister Rajnath Singh. "There is unanimity that enough has been tolerated. We had already started the process of exposing Pakistan and now the separatists will be not only exposed but they will be broken to the extent that they will lose their identity. They have got enough chinks in their armory and now their lies will start trembling out," said the official. |
