Sunderbani, Sept 5: In an open revolt against the party for its failure to deliver, as per promises made with the people of Jammu, the Bharatiya Janta Party leaders of Sunderbani Tehsil have openly challenged, BJP MP and MLA to win even 2000 votes in any coming elections.
Addressing a news conference under Panchayat Patradha, which spans over four villages, BJP Vice President for the block, Ashok Kumar Sharma said the party MP and MLA had befooled the people of their respective constituencies; he was flanked by other senior leaders from the area including Munshi Ram, Kundan Lal, Deewan Chand and Anand Sagar.
The BJP leaders said, "soon after the elections in 2014, we told our MP that despite being loyal to BJP for decades our villages have no power and electricity. He immediately issued DOs for PHE and PDD. But as nothing happened on the ground despite our repeated visits to the concerned offices, finally the officials told us that we had been cheated by the lawmakers".
"The officials told us that on one side BJP lawmakers issue DO to please people, on the other hand ask officials not to do the works. We would not have trusted them but it came true for us because despite repeated reminders our lawmakers including the MP and MLA did nothing for us for one and a half year," the BJP leaders said.
"It is because of their cheating that villages in this area of Jammu province have no electricity or water," the BJP leaders said.
The leaders said they supported BJP because of stalwarts like Prime Minister, Narendra Modi but that because of corrupt politicians, BJP was losing the grounds in Jammu.
They appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President Amit Shah to look into the matter.
"Blacksheep within BJP have spoiled the party and it has lost substantial ground. There's no chance of this party winning new elections," the BJP leaders from Sunderbani said.
