Govt seals foundation laid by Ajatshatru, Ansari refutes allegations leveled by DySP | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 5: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir today informed Jammu and Kashmir High Court that it has sealed concreting laid for foundation of a structure by BJP legislator Ajatshatru Singh at Gupkar here. Another ruling PDP-BJP government minister Imran Ansari refuted claims by LAWDA's enforcement officer regarding illegal constructions in prohibited Dal Lake, the flagship of Kashmir's tourism. In a compliance report, the divisional commissioner through deputy advocate general S A Geelani said that concreting laid for foundation by Ajatshatru Singh has been sealed (black painted). He said the sealed portion is kept under the 'superdari' of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar through Muhammad Yaseen, Naib Tehsildar Buchwara. Advocate B. M. Sadiq, who appeared on behalf of Ajat Shatru Singh sought time which was granted to him by the court for filing response. He has been asked to file it by next date of hearing in the week commencing September 26. Meanwhile, Imran Ansari said that the enforcement officer, a DySP, was employing pick and chose methodology and is letting various blue eyed and highhanded persons to raise the illegal constructions. "(The enforcement officer) is using excessive force beyond his competence and jurisdiction against the general masses besides has in addition to using of tear smoke shells and other mob disbursing weapons opened fire/live ammunition without any provocation or any illegal act upon the people which has been reported to various authorities hereinbefore as well that prompted respondents to enquire from enforcement Officer LAWDA," Ansari, minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, said in reply to court direction last month. He also rejected as the claims by the DySP that he called him on August 2 and threatened to kill him besides using unparliamentary language for taking action against those who had raised illegal constructions at Lashkari Mohalla near Habak in outskirts of Srinagar. "The statement of facts/response (filed) in the open court by (Ansari) is taken on record. Copy of (it) be provided to Suhail Hussain Reshi, Dy.SP, LAWDA (who) shall file his reply to (it) before the next date," a division bench of Justices Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Ali Mohammad Magrey said. Meanwhile, the court asked 12 persons to file response to the show-cause notices issued to them for raising illegal constructions around Dal Lake. Hearing a Public Interest Litigation the division bench also asked the alleged violators to furnish Rs 50000 as bail bond and surety for same amount for their continuous appearance before the court. "Other respondents (violators) who figure in the list (published by the divisional commissioner Kashmir through public notice in newspapers) shall be summoned through bailable warrants in the amount of Rs. 50,000," the court said, adding that the concerned SSP shall be personally responsible for execution of all these warrants. |
