SMVDU scholars shine at dwitiya CRAB-E-CON

Jammu, Sept 5: Four Scholars from Department of Biotechnology, SMVDU brought laurels to University by bagging prestigious award at dwitiya CRAB-E-CON 2016 (Lung Cancer Update) held recently at Fortune Inn Revera Jammu.
Dwitya CRAB-E-CON was jointly organised by North Zone Association of Radiation Oncologists (NZAROI), LBN Radiations of Hope ROH (Cancer care foundation), Department of Biotechnology SMVDU, and Maharishi Dayanand Hospital & Medical Research Centre (MDHMRC). This cancer conference was inaugurated by Minister for Health and Medical Education Shri Bali Bhagat, who was the chief guest on the occasion. He laid stress on importance of such type of conferences and lauded the initiative of the organisers to have such a prestigious conference in city of Jammu.
Renowed Oncologists from all over the India were involved in conceptualizing the idea of the conference, which discussed lung cancer thread bare including research and treatment from normal to high end technical advances. In total six oral and eight posters were presented by MD/PhD students all over India relating to the advances in the Lung Cancer research.
The first prize in Poster presentation was bagged by Sonali Verma Research scholar, second prize was won by Inderpal Singh Research Associate and third prize was bagged by Divya Bakshi Research scholar.
