| Income Tax Deptt holds workshop to aware DDOs on income tax rules | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Sept 21 : The team of Income tax officers headed by I.S Chawla held an informative workshop to make the drawing and disbursing officers aware of Newly Amended Tax Rules .
District Development Commissioner Poonch Mohammad Harun Malik was the chief guest on the occasion.
During the workshop threadbare discussion was held on various rules of TDS/TCS provisions, timely deduction, deposits and review of tax returned on quarterly basis. The Income tax officer briefed about the various types of penalties to will full defaulters and advise them to filed the tax return in proper manner and right time.
During the workshop, income tax officers also shown the list of various departments who are lagging behind in fulfilling the required formalities. Further, the income tax officers asked all the Treasury Officers not to entertained their financial bills till they clear all the pending liabilities. They also warned all the Drawing and Disbursing Officers to follow the income tax rules in letter and spirit or to face the penalties of income tax department .
Speaking on occasion the Deputy Commissioner said that tax evasion is the recognized crime now days if we become the will full tax evaders how come the progress take place in the society and how the various livelihood schemes can benefit the poor strata of society and how the disparities between rich and poor can be narrowed down. Therefore every able citizen is duty as well as morally bound to pay taxes for the overall flourishing of the society. |
