As Civil Sectt enters into functional mode, political gossips vitiate atmosphere | Arguments of employees from two regions at variance, end up in conflicting points.... | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 21: Even as the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar has begun to get into some functional mode, normal working and work culture is still a farfetched scenario in the corridors of the seat of governance. With Uri attack and Kashmir unrest the two developments at variance, the whispers and gossips among the officials belonging to two regions of the state are not just inconsistent but also witnessing clash point heated arguments these days. Sources said even though maximum attendance seen in almost all the departments of Civil Secretariat and other offices with Durbar Move is those of officials and employees from Jammu region, their counterparts from various parts of Kashmir who were hitherto firm on their stand of sticking to protest calendar schedule, some of them have started coming, no matter in small numbers, making up just 30% of the entire strength. This is however a heartening and welcome development for the PDP-BJP government which has imploring upon them to come to duties, sources said. There is a worrying aspect that has trickled lately in terms of vitiating the atmosphere within the corridors of the Secretariat, sources said. While Kashmir unrest and its wide ramifications on political and social front were already the topics of discussions among the employees in the offices, post Uri attack incident, there is change in tone and tenor of the discussions with most of the employees from Kashmir speaking language of separatists and following their line of attack over the developments, sources said. Most of the time such talks are meant to provoke the employees from Jammu region who defend the nationalist line and speak in nationalistic tone but this ends up in heated arguments on account of divergent views and even results in conflicting, surcharged atmosphere, sources said. While the Jammu employees are trying to keep themselves out of any possible controversies and prefer to stay away from participating in any discussions, their counterparts from Kashmir are making it explicitly loud their pro separatist views and opinions and justifying their positioning with them while contending the current agitation would go a long way and is not going to die down this time. Sources further said what irks and agitates the employees from Jammu region is the complete anti national and anti government views, sparing not even PM and CM by the officials occupying very high positions in the government and drawing fat salaries from the exchequer. Will the government rein in such elements by bringing out a circular to stop political discussions in the offices....? |
