Hundreds attend army's recruitment rally in Anantnag | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Anantnag, Sept 21: Defying militant threats, Hundreds of youth Wednesday morning turned up at Anantnag's High ground to attend army's recruitment rally. Amid ongoing unrest, Army's 5-day recruitment rally began here at High ground Anantnag. Reports said that aspirants from various far off areas starting reaching the venue in wee hours of morning. Strict security arrangements were made on the road leading towards the venue. A Total of 340 candidates from were screened on day one. The Recruitment rally is covering districts of Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam. Brig JS Samayal, Deputy Director General Recruiting (Punjab and J&K), told media men that candidates are being screened for physical fitness, medical examination and documentation. He said that successful candidates will then undergo written test on 23 Oct at same venue. According to the Army, a total of 12000 candidates have registered and will screened in five days recruitment rally at Anantnag High Ground. This is first recruitment rally after the killing of HM commander Burhan Wani that youth participated in while braving the militant threats. Pertinent to mention here, Hizb-ul-Mujahdeen has warned of serious consequences in case they joined any such recruitment rally in the valley which is witnessing mayhem from past over 74 days. |
