Resentment against appointment of Joint Directors in ED from KAS cadre | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 21: An emergency meeting of Central Executives of All J&K Plus-2 Lecturers' Forum was held today in Jammu, under the chairmanship of its Working President Deepak Sharma in which all the members in one voice strongly resented the appointment of Joint Directors' in Education Department from KAS Cadre. Deepak Sharma said that by appointing KAS Officers as Joint Directors in School Education Deptt., the Govt. has curtailed the already limited promotional avenues of the +2 Cadre. He said that the Govt. has violated the SRO 481 in which it is clearly mentioned that a person with 3 years service as Joint Director from the Education Deptt can be posted as Director School Education on first preference and secondly from IAS/KAS Cadre. But this move of Govt. has degraded the dignity and honour of our Plus-2 Community even further by appointing the Joint Director School Education Department illegally and illogically from KAS Cadre which is highly condemnable and objectionable. Speaking on the occasion the members apprised that a person holding the post of Joint Director and even Director School Education should be professionally qualified and well versed with Education Department and only a person from the Education Deptt having the varied experience can run the Deptt efficiently by manning the posts of Joint Director and Director, whereas the KAS Officers being non-concerned persons with little knowledge and experience, about the Education Deptt should not be allowed to experiment with the Education Department. The Govt. is deliberately trying to derail the Education system from the track. In the meeting it was unanimously decided that +2 community will never tolerate the transgressing of rights of +2 Cadre. The forum has always believed in petitions and submissions but will not hesitate from adapting agitational path if the Govt. doesn't stop experimenting with School Education Deptt just to create promotional avenues for KAS Cadre which will not achieve the purpose of goal of academic excellence. The Forum appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene and review the decision of the Govt. for overall welfare of the School Education Deptt. Prominent among others who were present in the meeting were R.S. Salathia, Dr. Sushma, Sanjay Bhagat, Pardeep Singh, Charan Dass, Jyoti, Ashok Sharma, Tarsem Singh and others. |
