VC created additional contractual vacancy in Sociology for the adjustment of blue-eyed | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 2: Taking a strong note of mismanagement in Directorate of Distance Education Department, University of Jammu, Jammu Youth Forum today urged the Chancellor of University Governor N N Vohra for immediate enquiry into the region's biggest institution bestowed with the job of distance learning. Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) University President Deepak Kumar while addressing a press conference here today. Deepak alleged that DDE management is not engaging the faculty members for the Personal Contact Programmed (P.C.P) and has given the job to outsiders to swindle the funds. Deepak reveal two teachers, one Hindi and other in English working in DDE for years; have not taken even delivered a lecture in the UG class since six years. "Both these two teachers wanted to have their blue eyed person as contractual faculty in Sociology but the said person failed to impress the Selection Committee and some other person get appointed at the place. This year, they pressed the Director to create additional position in Sociology so that their blue-eyed could also find place among the contractual faculty. But, the Director refused to budge and went ahead with only one position which irked the duo," he further revealed. The two teachers then went to the Prof Ramji Dass Sharma Vice Chancellor and sought his intervention owing to which the Vice Chancellor ordered removal of the Director and placed his own blue-eyed at the position so that things could be done as per the choice of two faculty members of DDE. Within days, newly appointed Director chaired a meet and created additional contractual vacancy in Sociology for the adjustment of blue-eyed of these two teachers. Kumar said that the real face of the Vice Chancellor has been exposed now as he used to claim him selves to be an upright person of high integrity but innumerable irregularities committed by him besides revengeful attitude towards his own subordinates and colleagues is a matter of great shame. The JYF urged the Governor, and other stakeholders to come forward and push the nefarious and exploitative designs of the Vice Chancellor to back so as to save the Institution from ruining. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Anil Sharma, Ajay Gupta, and Sanjay Sharma. |
