Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 2: Participation of Jugal Kishore Sharma in the Gandhi Jayanti function, which was organized by the Pradesh Congress Committee, has sent a shock wave across the Azad faction and triggered ripples in the dissident camp in Jammu and Kashmir. While the PCC is guessing reasons behind Jugal's participation in the official function, sources said that the entire dissident camp is confused over the development. None from the Azad group as well as from the dissident camp, was accompanying Jugal Kishore in the Gandhi Jayanti function, which was held at a banquet hall near Kunjwani Jammu this morning. According to the sources, the news about participation of Jugal Kishore in the PCC organized function spread like wild fire in the dissident camp, which has been boycotting the official programmes as well as PCC president G A Mir. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who had to face strong opposition for his joining G A Mir and others during meeting with Rajnath Singh led All Party Delegation in Srinagar, and former Minister Manohar Lal Sharma, personally apprised members of Azad camp and dissidents about the news of Jugal's presence in PCC function, sources said. While the development provided an opportunity to Tara Chand, Manohar Lal and others to raise a question mark on Jugal's commitment to dissident group, some Azad loyalists, who are close to Jugal Kishore, are speculating some sort of agreement at top level. Even as increasing closeness of Sham Lal Sharma with Ghulam Nabi Azad is an open secret now, presence of Jugal Kishore in a function chaired by PCC president G A Mir speaks of something more in offing, says a close confident of Azad while hinting that before the announcement of district presidents and expansion of PCC by accommodating some dissidents, new alignments in the Congress party may be seen. |
