JU forms committee to discuss M.Phil/PhD of 'blue-eyed' candidate 10/2/2016 11:24:20 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 2: The tall claims of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Jammu University have been exposed once again as he's allegedly trying hard to adjust some 'blue-eyed' candidate in violation of the norms. A committee has been constituted in this regard which is scheduled to meet on October 3. Moreover, some of the committee members are also ineligible for the task given to them. Sources said a scholar namely Parduman Singh of Dogri Department of Jammu University was admitted in M Phil programme in Dogri as per notification no. F.Acd/11/9/1013 - 1117 dated 11-02-2009 during session 2008-09. "No doubt, he had secured 49 percent marks in MA Dogri in the year 2008 but in the light of said notification, benefits of 1% in aggregate was considered in his case. Whereas letter on the said relaxation in percentage of marks was kept abeyance vide notification no. F.Acd/11/176/2962-3027 dated 29-03-2010", reads an official document. Documents further reads that the Department of Dogri requested the Dean Academics Affairs to provide guidelines for further course of action. In this regard, Assistant Registrar (Academics) vide letter no. Acd/11/253/10/7143 dated 01-11-2010 mentioned that the notification in question has been kept in abeyance as such no benefit could be extended to any student. However, investigation in this regard is also pending in the Vigilance commission and now question arises if the investigation to check the genuineness of the M.Phil/Ph.D is pending with the Vigilance Organization then what is the need for constituting a committee to discuss the case of M.Phil/Ph.D admission of Parduman Singh of Dogri Department and other related issues. Official copy in the possession of Early Times reads that Research & Awards Section University of Jammu vide no. RA/16/ 3757-64 dated 27/09/2016 has constituted a committee and Dean Academic Affairs, Dean Research Studies, Registrar, I/c Legal cell, Controller of Examinations, Assistant registrar (Academic Affairs), Assistant Registrar (R&A) has been directed to attend the meeting to discuss the matter on 03-10-2016.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
