Protests against attack on Ramnagar youth | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 2: Around 500 activists of JKNPP today held a massive demonstration outside Police Station Ramnagar and torched the effigy of MLA Ramnagar. The protesters sought the arrest of criminals involved in the murderous attack on two Ramnagar youth. The angry protestors raised slogans against goons who at the behest of BJP MLA had assaulted the youth inside the Police Station in full view of the police constables and other detenues. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister also joined the protest demonstration and sought early arrest of the culprits including the conspirators behind the attack. Injured youth Bishan Dass while speaking to the media during dharna divulged that on 2nd Oct morning he had gone to Shitla Mata Mandir in Bolot Rashi Thakrai where he was assaulted by seven persons with stones and lathis without any reason. He said that he had identified the culprits who included Arvind, a teacher; Yash Paul a Patwari and Kuldip a CRP constable, all sons of Shivcharan. He said that three of the attackers threatened to eliminate him saying that they were sons of BJP tehsil President Basantgarh namely Shivcharan and nobody dare touch them. Sandeep Singh while speaking on the occasion said that he was first abused by BJP workers last week and then he was got arrested at the behest of MLA Ramnagar on false charges of misbehaving with one Rahul s/o Varinder Singh alias Jamani Singh of Ramnagar who is a BJP worker of the town. While addressing the gathering , Harsh Dev Singh decried the attack on innocent youth. Seeking the immediate arrest of the criminals, Harsh Dev Singh said that Panthers Party shall launch a full scale agitation in Ramnagar in case the culprits were not brought to justice. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Pt. Shiv Ram Sharma, Dev Singh, Pavan Dev Singh, Sagar Dev, Kali Dass Sharma, Mohd. Farooq besides others. |
