Jammu, Oct 2: 150 birth anniversary of Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm today.
In this connection Puja, Havan, and garlanding of statue of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan was performed at Lala Hans Raj Park, Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road. Jammu. Rich floral tributes were paid to the founder of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha.
A large number of people including intellectuals, professionals, social activists etc. attended the function.
Vinod Gupta, President of the Sabha, in his address highlighted the activities undertaken by the Sabha for the welfare of children, women, monthly pension for widows, handicrafts and needy people. He appealed the people to follow the path shown by Lala Hans Raj Mahajan.
Chaman Lai Gupta threw light on the contributions of Lala Ji for which not only the people of Jammu but entire nation feel proud of him as he had worked for the welfare of all the communities irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region.
