| Face saving device by Pakistan | | | In order to save its face, Pakistan continues to voice suspicion over the surgical operation which the Indian troops claim,ed in which 38 militants were killed who were waiting on the launch pads across the LOC.In fact Pakistan would boast of having nuclear weapons and did not miss an occasion when it would not threaten to use these nuclear weapons against India.And when Pakistan had built an image of having become invulnerable and impregnable a body of Indian troops crawling across the border for destroying the launch p;ads built for Terrorists sounds a bad music for the ears of Pakistan.Hence to convert this bad and sonorous music to the soft and pleasing one Islamabad continues to deny Indian troops having carried out a surgical operation.
Well a sign of frustration on the face of Pakistan when it approached the UN for intervention telling the UN that the UN Military Observers Group did not observe any such surgical operation how could India claim to have done an unprecedented task ?If one believes Pakistan how could it say that its troops too have the capacity to carry out surgical operation.? However, a series of official meetings indicated that the LoC mission by the Indian Army was being taken far more seriously than the government and military would admit.
"No one will be allowed to cast an evil eye on Pakistan," Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief said, in an obvious reference to India during a Cabinet meeting convened hurriedly to review the LoC violence.Next Wednesday, the Pakistani government has convened a special joint session of Parliament, which will be preceded by a National Security Committee meeting on Tuesday, for which Sharief has extended a special invitation to all the chief ministers to speak about the LoC situation.No one will be allowed to cast an evil eye on Pakistan," Sharief said, in an obvious reference to India, during a Cabinet meeting convened hurriedly to review the LoC violence.
In New York, the Pakistani envoy met U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council president in an effort to have the LoC tensions taken up at the world body.Meanwhile,, Pakistan's Army Chief Raheel Sharif issued a statement, referring to the commando mission in which the Indian Army said at least eight terror launch pads were attacked, killing many terrorists on the Pakistani side of the Line of Control, as "malicious propaganda."The statement warned India against any misadventure.
"The highest state of vigil is being maintained along LoC and all along the international border. The matter is simple.Let Pakistan announce that it has decided to demolish all the arms training camps meant for imparting training to Terrorists. Let Pakistan announce that it has taken a pledge to stop using the land of Pakistan for exporting terror to India and other countries. Let Pakistan announce curbing of Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar who have been behind several terrorist strikes on Army bases besides Mumbai in India and in Jammu and Kashmir. If Pakistan does so India would respond it by holding meaningful bilateral talks with Islamabad for settling various bilateral problems.The choice is with Pakistan.Does it want war which may lead to its isolation or does it want peace that may have many supporters in the world ? |
