Villagers risk their lives due to unavailability of bridge over Dudyar Nallah | | | Arun Dev Jasrotia

UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: Successive Governments have failed to connect villages situated on the other side of Dudyal Nallah in Village Dudyar, Chak Rakhwala Panchayat of District Udhampur and people from these Six villages are forced to cross the nullah daily risking their lives. Villagers, especially Students are worst suffers due to the unavailability of bridge over Dudyar Nallah, who Put their lives at risk daily to reach school. "Successive governments failed to construct a bridge over the Dudyal Nallah in Chak Rakhwal Panchayat of udhampur district . Majority of students cannot attend their school regularly especially during monsoon season" , said a local . Sarpanch of Chak Rakhwala Panchayet Shivdeep Singh said "Population of six villages is facing difficulties to cross the Dudyal Nallah in absence of the bridge which the successive governments have failed to construct". He added in the Year 1990 PWD department started construction of Bridge,but after that the construction work of said bridge was stopped without any reason and has not started till date . He further added that in the Year 2000 the black topping to Chak to Krimchi Road was also done but the road is in bad shape again. Locals also added that there are many schools on either side of the Dudyar Nallah but due to the negligent attitude of the Department of the PWD students continue to suffer. Despite repeated pleas to the public representatives and officials concerned nothing has been done till date and the bridge to the villagers is still a "distant dream". Locals demanded early construction of bridge or diversion over Dudyal Nallah in Chak Rakhwa. |
