Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 11: After several schools were attacked and burnt in Kashmir, the State Government announced that a school will be demolished in the Jammu to create space for a parking lot. The decision of demolishing the school has been announced two months ahead of the major examination in which over 250 students are scheduled to appear. Students along with their parents have been protesting against the decision as they also met the Deputy Commissioner in Jammu. However, the area surrounding the school has been sealed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner while the state government is trying to accommodate students in other schools. "They want to construct a parking space here and we have been shifted to another school, which is very small. There aren't any desks in the new school as well," said a student. Opposition parties, meanwhile, have criticized the Government as they said that it is a nefarious move. "Dislodging students at this moment will create multifarious problems. They are providing security to the schools in Kashmir and on the other hand, they are closing down schools. We strongly condemn this nefarious move on the part of the Government," said Harsh Dev Singh, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party. |
