No one is sure whether Donald Trump would follow the policy laid down by Obama or alter it to the disadvantage of India.
Well as far as war against terror,the US being in the lead,Trump could bank on India's support because India,the sufferer of terrorism,can be a dependable friend of the US,.In the south Asian region Pakistan is in the lap of Chinese influence and Pakistan survives because of military and non-military aid from China and hence in the war against terror Pakistan may not be in a position to help Washington. And the story with China is the same because there is much competition between China and the US as far as sale military hardware and other goods are concerned .
As such the wedge between China and America cannot be narrowed down. Hence Washington has to depend on India and India can gain many things if it maintains cordial ties with the US.Already the tussle between the US and Russia is as old as history of the two nations and in this tussle India can play a positive role in bridging the gap between Russia and America which could promote world peace. |
