Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 21: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today paid a floral tribute to Dr Satya Pal Srivatsa a well -established and veteran writer of Dogri, Hindi, English and Sanskrit in a condolence meeting held in K.L. Saigal Hall, Jammu. The speakers condoling the sudden demise of exceptional literary personality described it a great blow to literary sphere in state as his (Prof Srivats) demise has created a vacuum in the world of Dogri , Hindi, Sanskrit literature. Writer fraternity of various languages and Staff of the Academy while paying tributes to the late soul recalled his contribution in the Hindi literature in particular and other literature in general. House also kept a two minutes silence as a token of regards and prayed to Almighty to give courage to the family members of the deceased. For inept Prof Srivats was born on June 11, 1932 in village Surari District Kathua in a Brahman family. He did his Ph.D in Sanskrit and rendered his services as Principal, Sanskrit College, Birpur and also as a Professor. As a writer he has so many books in Hindi, Dogri and English in his credit. Besides original work, he has also done translation work of five books among which Boond Boond Samiritian, a translation of Dogri book 'trip trip chetev' by Dr Om Vidyarthi which was awarded by the Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi in 2013. For his exemplary works, late Prof Srivats was also decorated with Baba Ganga Ram Sharan Hindi Sewi Purskar which was presented to him by the then President of India APJ Abdul Kalam. In addition to it he has been awarded by numerous awards from other Local organization. Besides above, he had been associated with a number of social , Educational and Literary organizations among which were Hari Prabhu Sansthan Nagrota, Akhil Bhartiya BVigyan Samiti Poona, Dogri Co-operative writers Society, Dogri Research Institute, Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti. A galaxy of intellectuals, Intelligencia, prominent writers of different languages , senior citizens and family members of deceased were present in this special memorial service organized by the JKAACL. Among prominent present on this occasion included Prof PN Trisal, Prof Rita Jatindra, Prof Chanchal Dogra, Prof BB Sharma, Mrs Neeru Sharma, Dr Aziz Hajini, Mrs Chand Deepika, MK Santoshi, Dr Baljit Raina, Dr Sudershan Sharma, Mr Kanav Sharma,Sh Sansar Chand, General Secretary, Hari Prabhu Sansthan, Gujru Nagrota, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
