| Heroin recovered in District jail, authorities conceal facts | | | K Koushal

Jammu, Dec 21: In a bid to sweep under the carpet, authorities allegedly hushed up the matter of recovery of heroin from two barracks of district jail during surprise check last week.
Sources divulged that last week a surprise check was conducted in the Amphalla Jail during which heroin was recovered from two jail inmates, but instead of taking action the concerned authorities got busy in sweeping the recovery under the carpet.
Sources said that heroin was recovered from bedding of two under trails of murder case.
One of the murder accused from whose possession heroin was recovered tried to end his life by cutting his vein. This incident was also concealed by the jail authorities while he was given required treatment.
If sources are to be believed, the facilitator who happens to be a head constable was marked as on leave just to save him.
Sources further claimed that the head constable who used to charge hefty amount for providing drugs to the jail inmates rarely withdrew his salary. |
