| Human Resource shortage hampers smooth functioning of JKSSC | | | Shiv Dev Thakur

Jammu, Dec 21: Acute shortage of the human resources, including managerial cadre officials, has affected the smooth functioning of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC).
Sources said that only two managers were appointed against the four posts while two senior coaches awaiting promotion from the past few years, were given charge of other stadias in Jammu.
Sources said that although there is an acute shortage of the administrative officers/ managers in the Sports Council, one of the senior manager of the Sports council is sitting in the Sports Officer's Office against a self created post.
Sources within the Sports Council said that there are total four number of sanctioned posts of Managers including one each for M A Stadium, Mini Stadium Parade, K K Hakoo and Indoor complex while some other small stadia were also attached along with all four, but at the present stage, there are only two managers namely Ashok Singh and Ravi Singh are available within the Sports Council and even one of them is posted at Mini Stadium Parade, somehow with his liaison with higher officials he managed to get order for his attachment in Sports Officer's office leaving the other three including two senior coaches namely Satish Gupta and S P Singh having charge of Manager Indoor Stadium and K K Hakoo Stadium respectively, with extra burden so as to handle the sports affairs and related activities under Sports Council; being held at MA Stadium and Mini stadium along with its associated stadia- sports hub of winter capital.
Sources said that earlier the same official due to his liaison managed to get posted at M.A. Stadium after shifting of the existing Manager to Mini Stadium Parade vide order no. 392 of 2016 dated 15-06-2016, SC/222-c/1435-42 dated 15-06-2016 issued by then secretary and the present secretary sports he was transferred under order vide. No 524 of 2016 dated 02.09.2016 file no. Sc/222-C/3114-22, thereby posting Ravi Singh at Mini Stadium Parade, but the Manager again got an order issued for his attachment at Sports officer's office.
When Contacted by Early Times, the Joint Secretary Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma said, "It is true that Ravi Singh who was posted at Mini-Stadium Parade is attached within the office of Sports officer as there is an order from the secretary office for the attachment of Ravi Singh, Manager within the Sports Officer's office".
Several attempts to contact Waheed Parra, Secretary Sports Council went in vain as he was not available for comments. |
