Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 21: Hundreds of aspirants for Assistant Professors posts and those who have already been selected in various subjects have been in distress due to bunch of litigations pending in court, putting their future at stake.
There is remote possibility that any positive result will be coming in next few days as according to sources the litigations are unlikely to be taken up in the months of December and January.
Sources informed Early Times that the result of interviews for the post of Assistant professors in subject of Biotechnology was declared on 30th of November but so far there was no word from Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission or Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education department, as what was the outcome of the list. Moreover, the interviews for the subject of Chemistry and Geography were held in between November 16 to November 18 after which there was no declaration of result. "Whenever we talked to JKPSC officials, they simply said that there is a court case but the moot question is what the Commission is doing to solve the court cases", an aspirant said, adding that JKPSC officials were seemingly very lethargic to purse the court cases, which expose their inefficiency.
An official of JKPSC, pleading anonymity informed Early Times that the litigations filed by aspirants in subject of Chemistry, Geography and Biochemistry, was scheduled to be taken up for hearing in the court on 13th of December. "But due to death of an advocate, the court was adjourned due to which the case was not taken for hearing", the official said.
He further added that for the month of December, there were very remote possibilities that the cases would be taken up for hearing as the cause-list was very long.
"Though we had compiled the reply, which was to be submitted in the court of Law but cause list for the December month is very long and probably cases will not be taken up for hearing", the official said.
The official further informed that for the month of January, till 27th of January, there would be vacations in the Court due to which all the cases would be taken up for hearing in the month of February. "A litigation is also pending in the court of law against the posts of Political Science but same will also likely to be taken up for hearing in the month of February", the official said, adding that there was no delay on part of JKPSC but due to court cases there was a delay.
