BJP's spokesperson contradicting party's stand, says CM needs to be understood well Relief to Burhan Wani's brother by Govt 12/21/2016 11:08:19 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 21: In what can be seen as contradicting BJP leadership's stand on an issue which is creating controversies and discord between the two allies, one of the spokesperson has gone too far in not just showing soft approach but also openly favouring grant of relief to terrorist Burhan Wani's brother by the Mehbooba Mufti led alliance government in the state. In the recently issued statement by BJP's spokesperson SS Bijral, while the latter has given enough background and details to explain his viewpoint on what he chose to say 'it was time to rethink strategy to destroy enemy by winning over the families of terrorists …', he has conveniently ignored what the state leadership's stand was on this issue. The BJP spokesperson has sought to explain that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's call in this direction should not be misunderstood, rather appreciated as alternate way out to bring on track the derailed youth. Sources said this utterance has caused a whisper within the party for the very basic reason that BJP leadership has adopted loud and clear stand over the same issue of granting relief to brother of Burhan Wani, something which is in line with the policy and ideology of the party, no matter it shares power with PDP at present in the state. While Bijral has in every word and sentiment of his statement has lauded the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's policy in supporting the family of Wani's brother, eyebrows are being raised as to how and why he has gone in opposite direction and stance of the party which has thoroughly been maintaining that Wani was also an overground worker and close associate of his brother Burhan against who there also stands an FIR lodged. The two stands are therefore being as party and one of its spokesperson at cross roads on a vital issue. However, political corridors in the state are looking upon it BJP's deliberate attempt in order to create confusion among the public. BJP on one hand is opposing it as a matter of its ideology, on the other hand its spokesperson is going different way: this is a strategy to keep its ally in good humor and also to give an impression there is no discord or disharmony with them over the issue.
