| BJP leaders lobbying for 'corrupt' SHO's at thana of choice | | Hulchul in Police | | Early Times Report
udhampur, Dec 21: With two posts of SHOs having fallen vacant after recent transfers in police department in Jammu province, some of the BJP leaders are lobbying to get cops of their choice adjusted at key thanas in the region.
Sources in police department said some BJP leaders have been lobbying for the police stations at Chenani in Udhampur and Arnas in Reasi.
Sources said a BJP MLA wants one of the allegedly most corrupt SHOs who has "tainted service record" to be transferred to Chenani as the latter happens to be his "henchman."
"Transfer of a corrupt official to this thana will be against the philosophy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who wants to weed out corruption," said a group of officials who have got feelers of the "politically motivated transfers."
Sources said the Director General of Police and the Inspector General of Police Jammu range are being approached by a lobby of BJP leaders to get their "henchmen adjusted."
Sources said the police department has reservations in the transfers and plans to go by the "wait and watch policy. |
