Ajit Colony residents rue lack of basic amenities, Govt apathy | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: The residents of Ward Number 32 in Ajit Colony of Jammu West are facing hardships as in their area and they are craving for regular power supply, drinking water, proper roads, drainage problems and others. The residents included Vikas Sharma, Ved Kumar, Harbajan Singh, Neelkamal, Sham Lal, Ashok Koul, Puran Chand and others said the major problems faced by the people in the Jammu west constituency are mainly of drainage, drinking water, pot holed roads and erratic power supply and added that said that their roads are in dilapidated condition and they face severe drinking water crisis. They alleged that the concerned department is not renovating the area of this colony despite of intimation. They said that they met concerned MLA, Sat Sharma multiple times but nothing has been done so far. The residents alleged that whenever they called their MLA, he was either busy in inaugurating development works of other mohallas of his close aids and when they make contact him, then he made only fake promises to them. Even the area lacks street lights and there is also a need of stretching sagging electric wires which are posing a threat to people's lives. The matter being of serious nature will be taken up with Power development department (PDD) and wherever electric poles are needed to be installed. The residents of the Ajit Colony said that at the time of election, their concerned MLA always used to come to seek their votes and as the elected him, he is ignoring their area. They also urged Jammu Municipal corporation (JMC) authorities to take stock of people's issues with regards to water logging, improper drains, dilapidated roads and lanes, garbage collection points and encroachments of canal distributaries so that people don't face problems and a good and clean city is developed. |
