jammu, Dec 21 : PoJK DPs Front today took out a protest rally from Press Club Jammu to DC office in support of their long pending demands including their final settlement.
Hundreds of DPs of 1947, 1965, 1971 today gathered in front of Press Club and highlighted their long pending demands. Holding banners and placards in their hands, protestors were raising slogans in support of their demands. They however thanked Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi for package amounting Rs 2000 crore which is recently released by the Centre. All the DP's feit happiness and congratulated Hon'ble Prime Minister of India.
Speaking in this rally Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib, president of the Front said that DPs of 1947, 1965 and 1971, who lost everything (movable and immoveable property) during past operations are suffering for last 67 years while the successive Governments both at Centre and State did not pay heed to their demands and always neglected them. Referring to recent relief package released by present union government, President of organization said, "This is not a full and final package for all DP's."
He said that that Clause IV of Affidavit is deleted by the centre and now onwards you need not to worry about this.
Captain Chib also briefed the gathering that some little problems are coming in required documents i.e. State Subjects, Aadhar Cards and Ration Card for Camp DP's are not available and we have discussed the issue with Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Divisional Commissioner Jammu. We hope they will soon find a rational way about this problem recently in next meeting, he adde.
Concludingly the speakers exhorted the community to remain united and aware about the policies of the government. They also hailed Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister J&K Ms Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister J&K Dr Nirmal Singh, MPs and MoS PMO Dr Jatinder Singh for this big achievement. Among other prominent who addressed the rally included Jai Pal Sharma General Secretary.
