Vijaypur inferno leaves property worth lakhs gutted | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Dec. 21: Major fire broke out in main bazar Vijaypur the previous night causing huge loss of property. However no one was injured in the incident. According to reports, the fire broke out in shops namely M/s Vishal Cloth House and M/s Sardari Lal and sons. Gursewak, the owner of M/s Vishal Clothe House told that he received the information of fire from Chowkidar following which he rushed on spot and found that thick smoke was coming out from the shop. "By the time I opened the shutter, entire cloth shop had been engulfed by the fire. The neighbouring shopkeepers and locals came out and tried to control the flames, but they had flared up" he said. He said that he informed the local police, following which the SHO P/S Vijaypur informed the Fire Services. "Till the fire tenders reached Vishal Cloth House and Sardari Lal and son were totally gutted. The adjoining shops had also partially caught the flames" he added further. Locals told ET that Firemen tried their best to control the fire and SDRF team also paid the visit on spot. It is assumed that the fire was caused due to short circuit. However, the case has been registered and the matter is under investigation. The businessmen of the Vijaypur Town have meanwhile demanded Fire Station at Vijaypur from Chander Parkash Ganga, Minister for I&C who also paid visit on spot. |
