SAMBA, Dec 21: Constructed at a cost of crores some 20 years ago the Bus Stand Samba is in bad shape and it looks that the compound of the bus stand had lived its life and needed total overhauling but the authorities are least bothered.
Some 20 years ago New Bus Stand Samba was constructed to decongest the traffic along ever busy Highway, but till date the said bus stands was not made functional due to the negligence of district administration. The inauguration of new bus stand samba was several times made by the Politicians, yet it has failed to see the dawn.
Samba locals alleged that the crore of rupees spent on new bus stand but new bus stand is being reduced to idle vehicle parking lot and cricket ground.
Local people of samba including Shiv Raj Singh, Monu Sambyal said that the bus stop in Main Chowk Samba this is posing a threat of accident.
They mentioned that few months ago many minor and major road mishaps took place at Main Chowk Samba and if recalled here a speedy trailer rammed into the vehicle in which five people killed on spot and several injured some months ago. "But the district administration was not started new bus stand. Why district administration was not functional new bus stand, they added.
The New Bus Stand Samba was created under 10th and 11th Finance Commission through Urban Development Ministry but till date the bus stand was not functional.
The New Bus Stand is a vital linkage between Main Bazaar as its just 500 meter from the market but perhaps the New Bus Stand is not being functional due to some vested interests, said Som Nath Ex MLA Samba. |
