CMO organizes two day training camp | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24: Chief Medical Officer Jammu in coordination with Government Hospital Gandh inagar Jammu organized two-day training of "Navjat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram" (NSSK) under "National Health Mission" (NHM) for Medical Officers and Staff Nurses of Jammu District w.e.f 23rd to 24th December 2016. The main objective of the training is to reduce Infant Mortality Rate. The trainers are Pediatricians from Government Hospital Gandhinagar namely Dr K.R Sangra & Dr Sanjeev Gupta. Dr Robinder Khajuria Chief Medical Officer Jammu inaugurated the training along with Dr Arun Sharma Dy Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu (Nominated as Nodal Officer for Trainings for Jammu District by CMO Jammu), Dr K.R Sangra and Dr Sanjeev Paediatricians, Itishri District Programme Manager Jammu, Mee-nakshi Accounts Manager Govt Hospital Gandhinagar and Mohd Nadeem Manager Infection Control, BMW & Sanitation Govt Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu and 32 participants Medical Officers and Staff Nurses of different centers in Jammu District attended. Dr Robinder Khajuria CMO Jammu said among the Infant Mortality Rate two-third of deaths are due to neonatal mortality. To save the life of neonates just a minute after birth rightly called - The Golden Minute - is most critical and important. In most neonates - 90% routine care is required, in a few 9% basic initial steps of resuscitation are enough while in about 1% active resuscitative measures are needed. This Golden Minute has a great bearing in the quality survival of children followed by 1st hour, 1st day, 1st week and 1st month of life respectively. "If we are able to protect the neonates during this period we will be able to save most of our neonates," At the end of the training certificates were distributed to the trainees. |
